Travel

New Englanders and many others tend to think of Vermont as the "just" the home of Green Mountains.   But the southern-still hilly but less mountainous-parts of the state have a wealth of towns, cities, villages and things to do "year round" that should not be overlooked by those seeking the "real" Vermont.

At Southern Vermont.com, they are Bridging the Past, Building the Future.  Associated with the Great Fall Regional Chamber Commerce and the Southern Vermont Regional Marketing Organization, the service represents real Vermonters from places like Bellows Falls, Jamaica (yes, Vermont has one), Londonderry, Putney, Stratton and many places in the region.  The site offers vacation packages and information on local events, a search program for lodging and viewers can "bookmark" what they learn at the site for subsequent visits and updates.  They welcome email requests for information or call 1-877-VTSBEST.
